THE CHALLENGE
An established fragrance company with roots dating back to around 1980 with niche customers base wanted to attract younger customers and introduce more contemporary fragrances, without weakening the exclusive positioning and niche appeal of its original brand.
THE SOLUTION
Rather than stretching the parent brand beyond its established audience, we created Premium Scent as a new and independent brand. Its strategy combines the company’s fragrance expertise with a more expressive identity, accessible experience, and youthful approach to discovery.
THE IMPACT
A distinct fragrance brand with its own name, position, and visual world, giving the business room to reach new audiences, introduce more varied products, and expand without compromising the legacy of the original brand.
The challenge?
To honor the legacy of a historic perfume house while speaking the language of today’s bold, design-conscious youth.
THE LEGACY
Decades of Expertise Behind Every Scent
The story began with a company that had spent more than four decades operating in the world of niche fragrance.
Over the years, it built deep knowledge of perfumes, ingredients, customer preferences, and the standards expected by discerning buyers. Its original brand became associated with exclusivity, niche fragrances, and a refined luxury experience.
But the fragrance market was changing.
A younger generation was entering the category with different expectations. They were more open to experimentation, more influenced by culture and self-expression, and more interested in discovering fragrances that reflected changing moods and identities.
The company had the expertise to serve this audience. What it needed was a brand created specifically for them.
They had earned a strong position among customers seeking exclusive and niche fragrances.
Expanding it toward younger segments could create new opportunities, but it also carried a strategic risk.
Introducing more youthful products, expressive colors, accessible communication, and a broader retail experience under the same identity could confuse existing customers and weaken the distinction the brand had built over time.
The challenge was therefore larger than updating a logo or launching a new collection.
The business needed to attract a different audience while protecting the meaning, status, and credibility of its established brand.
The goal was not to make the legacy brand younger.
It was to create a new brand with room to grow.
THE STRATEGIC DECISION
One Expertise. Two Distinct Brand Experiences.
We recommended creating a separate brand rather than repositioning the original one.
This brand-architecture decision allowed each brand to serve a clear audience and protect its own market position.
The original brand could continue focusing on exclusivity, heritage, and niche fragrance, while the new brand could explore contemporary products, younger communication, expressive design, and a more approachable discovery experience.
The two brands would share the strength of the company’s fragrance expertise, but each would express it through a different promise, personality, and customer experience.
Protect the legacy.
Expand the audience.
Give each brand a world of its own.

THE STRATEGY
From Traditional Luxury to Personal Discovery
The brand strategy was developed around four connected principles:
QUALITY: Drawing on the company’s established fragrance expertise to offer products and an experience customers can trust.
EXPRESSION: Presenting fragrance as a personal choice that reflects identity, mood, style, and occasion.
DISCOVERY: Making it easier and more enjoyable for customers to explore different fragrance families and find scents that feel right for them.
RELEVANCE: Building a contemporary brand that understands younger audiences without relying on temporary trends.
Together, these principles shaped a personality that is sophisticated, expressive, confident, and welcoming.
They positioned Premium Scent between two extremes: traditional luxury that can feel distant, and mass-market fragrance that can lack distinction.
Elevated enough to feel special.
Approachable enough to explore freely.
THE VISUAL DIRECTION
A More Expressive Side of Luxury
The visual direction needed to separate Premium Scent clearly from the conventional codes of heritage perfume brands.
Rather than relying entirely on dark colors, ornamental details, and formal compositions, we introduced a brighter and more expressive visual world.
Refined layouts preserve the brand’s premium character, while color, imagery, and flexible graphic elements add youthfulness, variety, and energy.
This balance allows Premium Scent to feel sophisticated without appearing distant, and contemporary without becoming temporary or overly casual.
Refinement gives the brand credibility.
Expression gives it a new voice.
COLOR, TYPOGRAPHY & GRAPHICS
Color That Changes the Mood
Fragrance is invisible, but its emotional effect is immediate.
The visual system uses color to make that invisible experience more tangible.
A varied palette gives different fragrances, collections, and messages their own mood, while consistent typography and layout keep every expression connected to Premium Scent.
Soft shades can communicate delicacy and calm. Brighter combinations introduce energy and playfulness, while deeper tones create moments of intensity and sophistication.
Graphic elements and expressive compositions bring further movement to the system, helping the brand communicate the variety of personalities found within its fragrance range.
Every fragrance creates a feeling.
Every color gives that feeling a presence.
BRAND COMMUNICATION
Speaking About More Than Notes
Fragrance communication often focuses on ingredients, notes, and concentration.
While this information remains important, Premium Scent needed a more relatable way to connect with its younger audience.
The brand language presents fragrance through feelings, personalities, moments, and possibilities. It invites customers to discover what suits them rather than telling them what luxury should look like.
The tone is clear, confident, expressive, and easy to engage with. It can communicate product quality without becoming overly technical, and sophistication without unnecessary formality.
This gives Premium Scent a flexible voice for product launches, campaigns, social content, in-store communication, and seasonal occasions.
A fragrance is made from notes.
Its meaning comes from the person who wears it.

BRAND GUIDELINES
Keeping Every Expression Recognizable
We developed comprehensive brand guidelines to help Premium Scent maintain a consistent identity as its products, channels, and audiences expand.
The guidelines define how the logo, colors, typography, graphic elements, imagery, layouts, packaging, and key applications should be used.
They provide the internal team and its creative partners with a practical system for creating new collections, campaigns, retail materials, digital content, and customer touchpoints.
The guidelines protect the brand’s premium character while preserving the flexibility and expression required to remain relevant to its audience.
Flexible enough to keep evolving.
Consistent enough to remain Premium Scent.
THE OUTCOME
The Scent of Expansion
Premium Scent emerged as a new and independent fragrance brand designed to help an established business enter a different part of the market.
The naming created a clear and accessible proposition. The strategy gave the brand a distinctive position between traditional luxury and mass fragrance, while the visual identity translated that position into a youthful and recognizable experience.
Most importantly, the new brand gave the business room to evolve without asking its original brand to become something it was never created to be.
Premium Scent can now introduce contemporary fragrances, speak to younger audiences, and explore new products and channels—supported by decades of expertise but expressed through a world of its own.
A new name for a new audience.
A modern identity backed by lasting expertise.
Let’s Redefine What Luxury Means
Growth does not always require changing the brand that built your legacy.
Sometimes, it requires creating a new brand with a clearer audience, a distinctive purpose, and the freedom to build its own future.
At Tnween, we develop names, strategies, and identities that help established businesses enter new markets without losing what made them valuable.
