In 2025, Tortugas entered a market hungry for something new.
While international cuisines had filled Saudi dining scenes for years, authentic Mexican food young, bold, and full of life was still missing.
Tortugas set out to change that, transforming a culinary gap into a flavorful experience that celebrates culture as much as taste.

The Challenge
The Saudi market had few true Mexican restaurants, and most that existed lacked personality.
They were either too generic or too upscale to connect with younger audiences.
Our client saw an opportunity: to create a brand that blends the energy of Mexican street food with the modern confidence of contemporary dining.
But the challenge was clear how do you make “Mexican” feel local, familiar, and aspirational at once?

We defined Tortugas as more than a restaurant it’s an experience.
One that tells the story of Mexico through color, texture, and flavor.
At its heart, the brand’s promise was simple yet powerful:
“Bold flavors. Vibrant traditions.”
It’s a declaration of taste and culture, and a bridge between authenticity and modern design.

From the Streets to the Spotlight
To bring this vision to life, we began with deep research into the competitive landscape studying every player from fast-casual eateries to fine dining.
We mapped the gaps, defined audience motivations, and found that Tortugas could own a clear emotional space: freedom, fun, and flavor.
Our strategy revolved around one idea “Street soul, elevated style.”
We positioned Tortugas as a contemporary brand that honors the spirit of Mexican street food while speaking the visual language of modern Saudi youth.

Design with Flavor
We developed a complete brand system rooted in energy and warmth:
• Visual Identity: A logo inspired by movement and texture reminiscent of handmade tiles and lively markets.
• Color Palette: A vibrant mix of green (#0ce62a) and soft beige (#f1ede2), symbolizing freshness and approachability.
• Typography: Playful yet structured, echoing the balance between authenticity and modernity.
• Brand Guidelines: A scalable visual system ensuring consistency across packaging, menus, signage, and digital platforms.

A visual and verbal identity that doesn’t just look Mexican it feels alive.

The launch of Tortugas sparked immediate excitement.
The identity resonated deeply with the founders and the target audience alike recognized for its bold colors, cultural integrity, and youthful tone.
With its first branch opening, Tortugas is already being positioned for national expansion, with franchising on the horizon.
But beyond food, Tortugas introduced something bigger: a fresh, unapologetically vibrant perspective in the local dining scene.
